One of the most valuable things we offer is the honest redirect, away from the overhyped experience, the lodge that looks better in photos, or the route that adds hours for no meaningful gain.

When Steven founded Beyond The Blue in 2000, the luxury travel market in New Zealand and Australia looked very different. There were fewer lodges worth recommending, fewer operators doing things properly, and far less information available to travellers planning from the other side of the world.
Twenty-five years later, there is more of everything. More lodges, more operators, more content, more noise. The challenge for a travel agent placing clients into this part of the world is no longer finding options. It is knowing which ones are actually worth it, which ones photograph well but disappoint in person, and which ones have quietly become the best in their category without ever needing to advertise the fact.
